summer color love >> yellow + aqua

It's been a couple of months since I did a color love post, which is just silly.  Plus, summer is my favorite time of year for color, so I figured it was about time for another.  Even though I'm naturally more drawn to neutrals tones (as you can probably tell by the simple white, grey, and muted mustard color theme of my blog design), I'm a big fan of bolder colors in the summertime.  I've been wearing a lot of tangerine and coral tones these days, but my biggest color crush lately is yellow (duh) paired with shades of aqua and turquoise blue.  This combination can be pretty intense, and it's definitely not something I'd wear head to toe or choose to be the two main colors for a room makeover.  But when these colors are put together in the right way, they're summer perfection in my eyes.  (This could just be because I'm a big nerd, but it's the truth).

  12. This is a beautiful combination! To be honest, I never thought of putting yellow and teal together before. My alma mater's colors are blue and gold/yellow so whenever I see them together it screams my school name to me. But switching out the blue and putting in teal? Genius! And these are fantastic finds. Love it!

  13. omg melissa, i just saw an outfit post on a blog, not 5 minutes ago, with this color scheme, & thought to myself, i really want to incorporate this. guess you're not the only one that likes it, are you? ;)

  14. Nice combo! I am loving aqua and coral :)

  16. i love this color combination.

  17. These colors are stunning together. I especially love the crocheted pieces. They remind me of my great-grandmother, who patiently attempted to teach me how to crochet when I was in middle school. Alas, I never made it beyond a long string of beautiful slip knots. Might I say (coming from a jewelry girl) that a simple turquoise ring would round it all out perfectly. Then, when you hand your friends a cupcake in those sweet cupcake cups, they will exclaim, "Ooohhh, Ahhh! Where'd you get that ring? It goes perfectly with your outfit."

  18. I wish I could wear yellow, but it totally washes me out :( bummer. I'm loving dusty pink, coral, and greys right now though! ...and mint of course <3
