Music + Design // My Favorite Concert Posters

Although I don't have nearly as many of them hanging in my house these days as in the past, I have an undying love for concert posters.  The concert poster (aka gig poster) embodies some of my very favorite things (design/music/art) all wrapped up into one visually appealing package.  If you're a music lover, it can also be a pretty amazing way to decorate your home - not only do you get to look at well-designed art everyday, you also get to represent your favorite bands.  Score.

A few of my recent favorites >>

1. Fleet Foxes by Invisible Creature //  2. Bob Dylan by Vahalla Studios // 3. Wilco by Mikey Burton // 4. Explosions in the Sky by Doublenaut // 5. The Avett Brothers by The Silent Giants // 6. Feist by Vahalla Studios // 7. Dr. Dog by Dan Stiles // 8. The Black Keys by Doe Eyed // 9. Goyte by Doe Eyed //  10. The Pixies by Vahalla Studios // 11. Sharon Van Etten by Brian Danaher

Do you have any concert posters hanging as art in your place?

  1. These are great. I especially love the Dr. Dog & Wilco posters. We have tons of Umphrey's, Widespread Panic & Wilco posters adorning our walls. The most expensive part is framing (but totally worth it).

  8. These are awesome. Nope, I haven't really had music posters on the wall since maybe college? And back then, it was mostly flyers from shows I'd been to. Ah the good old days. Now I'm a little old lady sipping my tea and remembering when I used to be cool. Haha. :)

  10. Love these and I'm planning on getting some because they are so artistic and beautiful. Much more grown-up than the Backstreet Boys posters hanging on my walls back in middle school haha

  13. yes, i totally do, but they are flyers ripped off walls at gigs, as i was leaving the shows. so they don't really look like art pieces. melissa, please show us YOUR concert poster collection. you can even show concert posters from the band robbie works for. i bet that would be fun to see the different styles from the same band. have you shown us your ticket stubs? you have guitar picks. i know you have ticket stubs. i'm such a nosy. do whatever you want, it's your blog. :)

  14. I used to plaster my walls with posters, to the point where I didn't know what color my walls were anymore. Haha. But I've grown out of them in last couple of years. I still appreciate a lot of them, though. The ones you picked look fantastic!

Love from Horses of Ares <3

  16. Wow, these are just amazing! Concert posters that are very artistic will certainly stir the curiosity of the people to go see the show. These are definitely effective advertising campaigns. I really love that of Fleet Foxes because there seems to be a certain mystery behind the image. Thank you for sharing.
