For this edition of '10 Great,' I decided to share ten seriously delicious recipes that I've discovered recently in my quest for new meat-free dishes to make for Thanksgiving dinner this year.  I've been a vegetarian for 24 years now (wow do I feel old typing that), and for whatever reason, it always seems to be around Thanksgiving when I'm questioned about it.  Usually I'm either asked what I eat if I don't eat turkey or if I eat 'tofu turkey' instead.  The thing is, there is so much to eat at Thanksgiving dinner without having to eat either of them if you don't want to (no offense to those of you who like tofu turkeys, but I just can't get past the odd texture - I've tried).  I am a huge fan of side dishes (give me a massive bowl of mashed potatoes and a big spoon and I'm in heaven), many of which are veggie, and there are lots of main dishes that can easily be made without meat as well.  Also, there's dessert.  I'll take an entire pumpkin pie along with that bowl of mashed potatoes, thank you very much.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish, vegetarian or otherwise?  Can you suggest any yummy veggie recipes that I might want to try in addition to these? (*Please note that #6 calls for chicken broth; vegetable broth can be substituted.)

  2. You HAVE to try this chili (as long as you like the ingredients in it). I make it for everyone and even men who are total meat-eaters love it! It just happens to be vegan, so it's a good option for anyone. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I love how healthy this is... and it's so delicious! I'm bringing it to Thanksgiving this year :)

  3. The winter squash bowl looks awesome. I might not want to eat it if it looked that good. The mashed sweet potatoes caught my eye too. I've never had kale.

  7. I've seen the Martha Stewart recipe earlier this week. I think that seeing it a second time, might be a sign that it needs to be made :-)

    Have you tried it?
