Why Our 'Black Friday' Is Early This Year (+ Major Coupon Love for Our 2014 Holiday Card Line!)

Bubby and Bean Holiday Cards

Once again, it's time to announce Bubby and Bean Art's yearly Holiday Card Collection!  I started this line as a side project back in 2010 with just two designs, and it's continued to grow each year. For 2014, I've reintroduced (and updated) a few of the best selling designs from previous years, and created some new designs as well. Just like last year, all of this year's designs use eco-friendly cardstocks and envelopes, and are available in singles or sets of 10 (or in most cases, any quantity you request). And as always, each card is individually printed, cut, scored, and folded by hand, right here at the Bubby and Bean HQ.

I am so grateful for the success of this yearly Holiday Card line you guys. So grateful. My absolute busiest time of year - by far - is a direct result of sales of these cards, both to stores and to individuals. Each year since I started the line, I've offered a discount over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend, and the week that follows is round-the-clock madness for my team. This year though, we'll be out of the country during that particular week - the week that is, in my experience, the best of the year for holiday card sales. My husband's band is holding their annual holiday festival in the Dominican Republic, and family is invited. As soon as we knew the dates - way back at the beginning of the year - I started to try to come up with the best way to make it work so that our family could go on this very special trip together, without completely sacrificing the Bubby & Bean Art's most fruitful period. I'm lucky to have a great employee, but I would never put such a massive burden on her to handle by herself. Ultimately, we decided that the best route to go would be to offer this year's special discount early, instead of on Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. That way, we can (hopefully) spread sales out a little, rather than concentrate them into that one week. And it's great news for those of you who, like me, are looking to get a head start on their holiday cards instead of waiting until the last minute!

I'll be sending this special coupon code to our mailing list and other outlets and announcing on our Etsy shop sometime next week, but for blog readers (because you know how much I love you guys), I'm sharing right this very minute. So here goes. Take 20% off your entire order (cards, card sets, art prints; all of it) at Bubby and Bean Art with code BLACKFRIDAY2014. Just enter that code in the coupon box at checkout, and the discount will be automatically applied. (Expires 11/20.)

I'm still deciding as to whether or not we'll continue to take orders during the week that our little 'factory' and shipping department will be closed (December 1st-7th), or if we'll close the shop completely. But regardless, orders placed during that time period will not ship until the week of December 8th. All orders placed from now until November 30th will ship within 1-2 business days (often the same day). The early bird is catching all the goodness this year.

So that, my friends, is why we're offering our big Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale early this year. Regardless of whether or not you take advantage of it, I want to say thank you - as always - for your support. I'm so grateful for you all. Truly. I hope you like this year's cards (and the early discount too!)

  5. I can imagine it would be stressful to be gone during that week but there's no way I could turn down a trip like that either! I love you cards, I bought the peace on earth ones last year and can't wait to order again with this coupon. =)

Great sale, and great way to stay ahead of the game since you'll be gone for Black Friday, Small Biz Sat, and Cyber Monday.

  9. Your cards are so beautiful, Melissa. If I did holiday cards, I'd be coming straight to your shop. I'm not much of a Christmas gal, really, although of course I can't resist a little sparkle here and there. Which probably explains why your Make the season bright card is my absolutely favourite :)
