Let Your Heart Be Light

It's here, it's here! Christmas week has finally arrived. This has been my first holiday season with a little one, and it's painfully obvious that I'm not seasoned in establishing balance when it comes to doing this whole holiday thing as a mom. I never quite live up to my own expectations during the holidays anyway, but this year is almost laughable. (One small example: our tree is only lit from the top half up, because one of the strands of lights isn't working, and I just haven't gotten around to replacing it. Certainly not a real problem, but a holiday decor fail nonetheless.) And I haven't had the time this year to devote to putting together posts that share my personal holiday DIY projects or holiday decorating of our home (as unimpressive as it may be compared to years past). So I decided that the least I could do would be to share some of the Christmastime images that have inspired me lately - and that will hopefully inspire you as well. Because really, this time of year should be about giving ourselves a break and just enjoying the beauty of the season anyway.

  5. Great holiday photo round up! We don't have much by way of decoration and we don't even have a little one to keep us busy! We literally have a paper tree. At least there are no needles to clean up and our electricity bill won't be higher?
I hope you have a great "baby's first Christmas!"

  8. Oh Melissa, I am right there with you this year - and I don't have a little one as an excuse! If it makes you feel better, I've only had time to decorate the front of my tree this year, so I put it in the corner where no one would notice the bare half :) Oh well, there's always next year. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
