Hello, summer! This month has official marked the beginning of my favorite time of year for fashion. And despite a whole lot of rain, the weather has been phenomenal. (I'm not even going to complain about what the humidity has done to my hair, because if you complain incessantly about winter like I do and then complain about summer too, you're fired.) I'll gladly embrace every part of summer, even things like sunburn and sweat and stickiness, if it means I get to wear clothes like you see above. These are the pieces that I'm wearing on a daily basis right now, and hence the pieces that I'm showcasing for this month's edition of What I'm Wearing Now. (If you're a new reader, you can read more about the motivation behind why I started this series by checking out the past editions, right here.)

Like summertime itself, my summer wardrobe is pretty carefree (so cliche but I'm going with it). My daily uniform right now consists of either a gauzy dress (usually knee-length or above), or cutoffs/tee/kimono, with some sort of flat sandals (or, quite often, no shoes at all). There is a lot of neutral action happening as usual, and there isn't a lot of variety, and I'm okay with this. If I could dress this way year round I gladly would. Give me a few casual boho pieces with an occasional striped garment thrown in for good measure and I am a happy lady. I do like to incorporate a couple of nice pieces too, like my new favorite bag from my pals over at Trask (#3). I finally packed away my beloved diaper bag and have been carrying this around instead, and I'm in love. On the other side of the scale, I'm in no way ashamed to admit that I've also gotten an insane amount of wear out of my fake Birks. It's all about balance over here.

What type of clothing and accessory pieces have you been wearing most this month?

  1. Like everyone else, I'm on the search for a kimono and this is really, really cute. (Well, let's be honest - this whole board is amazing.) Thanks for sharing!

  2. I always love these what I'm wearing posts. Although as you said recently, our styles are so different, I share your love of neutrals and I love that your style is so cohesive - whenever you put these posts together, I can just picture the outfits you assemble from the pieces. And that kimono really is adorable.

  8. Cutoffs and a great tee or tank top is my summer uniform. I'm loving that the sun has been shining and I can actually dress for summer now :)

  9. Come to me, black tote bag! I'll give you a great home!

Lately I've been alternating between jeans and lightweight blouses or a cute dress.
