I know, I know Halloween just ended and here I am already jumping into holiday decor. To be fair, it seems like a lot of stores I frequent had their holiday stuff out in, like, August this year, and it's November now, so I'm telling myself it's cool. Besides, believe it or not (I actually did a double take at my calendar this morning), Thanksgiving is just three weeks from now. So it's really the perfect time to be thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas home decor. And that's just what I'm doing.
For the most part, I don't go too crazy with seasonal or holiday decorations. I usually throw out a couple of pumpkins and a few small pieces at Halloween, if that, and it's a very rare occurrence if I put something special up for Valentine's Day or Easter/spring. There is one exception though, and that is the winter holiday season. I admittedly go a little overboard this time of year (my husband may or may not have commented that it looked "like Christmas threw up" in our house last year), but I genuinely make an effort to keep things tasteful and stylish, in the rustic, natural aesthetic that I most love. And that is why one of my favorite places to shop for holiday home decor is Antique Farmhouse.
In addition to their gorgeous decor for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Antique Farmhouse features all sort of unique farmhouse style decor, industrial decor, vintage reproductions and other chic home decor via special design sales that are up to 80% off retail. They offer multiple sales events that include furniture, design lines, decor and art products at incredible savings (my favorite part, obviously). You can view the sales directly on their site, or, if you're like me and you don't want to miss out (because once something is sold out, it's gone), you can sign up for their daily email list.
When I was growing up, my mom was always big on antique and rustic style when it came to holiday decor, and I can tell how much it influenced my style when I'm putting out my own decorations (and/or shopping for them). I'm especially a fan of mixing rustic pieces with more minimalist, modern ones. And this is why I'm drooling over everything in the above collage, especially #1 (I mean, how gorgeous is that boxwood garland?) and #7 (basically the coolest string lights ever). I also adore the Santa Claus figurines (I have over 100 vintage and antique style mini Santas in my collection; true story).
And what about you? Are you big on decorating for the holidays? Which pieces above are your favorite?
