Bowls have been a big trend in healthy eating for years now, and they are a several-meals-a-week staple in our house. You can't get any easier, really. Just pile some layers of what you have in the fridge into a bowl (keeping in mind to include a variety of healthy foods), and eat it. We tend to stick to what we know though - either this smoothie bowl or one that consists of organic greens, blueberries, pineapple, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, and the occasional avocado or banana, and a dinner bowl that consists of quinoa, black beans, chickpeas, eggs or tofu, greens, avocado, and lots of hot sauce. And while they make for hearty and delicious meals, they can get boring after a while. So I decided to search out some new bowl ideas, and found the recipes above, which all look delicious. I plan on trying #6 and #10 (by my girl Jessica, who just finished writing her first book!) this week.

What is your favorite bowl? Do you prefer sweet ones like smoothie bowls (I do) or more savory varieties?

  1. Since I finally gave in and started properly cooking (ish - I've never been good at it and since Ian is a chef, there isn't much point in learning), I've been convinced that food should only come in bowl form. I have trouble concentrating on cooking more than one thing at a time so bowls are ideal, especially if they can also be cooked in one pot, because let's face it, since Ian is a chef, he's mostly out in the evenings and I have to make my own food. I have a running series of bowls I make but this round up has a few I'll definitely be trying - the tropical lentil bowl looks so good!

  2. Oooohhhh! Delicious!

    Happy Wednesday! ♥
    Keep Up The Great Work!

  3. I have been really getting into bowls lately so this makes me super excited.

  4. All of the bowls look delicious, but of course the bamboo utensils in the second photo is what caught my eye :)
The sweet smoothy bowls are right up my alley!

  5. Yum! I love these too. I either go for a berry based smoothie bowl or a really filling and yummy savory bowl with things like quinoa, sweet potato, corn, avocado etc
