My Favorite Winter Accessory Gift Ideas

Look you guys, an outfit post! I haven't done an outfit post since March. That's ten months if you're counting. Now to be fair, this isn't technically an outfit post - it's a gift guide. But since I own (and adore) a couple of the items I'll also be giving as gifts this year, and highly recommend them, I figured taking some photos while wearing them and showcasing them along with some other gift ideas seemed like the way to go.  (Plus who can resist a good "throwing fall leaves in the air" action shot? See below...)

I actually tend to be a last minute holiday shopper, but this year I made a vow to start early and be as organized as possible. And while I always aim to come up with gift ideas for items that are unique, high quality, and practical (without being excessively expensive), I'm making that my number one priority this year. One gift I plan on getting everyone on my list this year is a well made, style-conscious winter accessory. I mean really, there isn't much more classic than that when it comes to gifting, and since everyone in my family is notoriously difficult to buy for, I figured this is something pretty impossible not to both enjoy and actually use.

Let's start with my ultimate favorite winter accessory gift ideas, the Unanimity Hat (in Heather Charcoal, $44) and Betto Mitts (in Natural, $29), both from RELLA, that I'm wearing throughout these photos (including the jovial leaf action shot you see above and the "Haha, I'm not listening" shot you see below). This attention to detail in this gorgeous hand knit (50% acrylic/ 50% merino wool) hat is incredible, it's fully fleece lined (so warm, so not itchy), and its versatility makes it a perfect gift for pretty much anyone, regardless of style. The mittens are also hand knit from acyclic/merino and are available in 17 (!!!) color choices. They're as comfortable as they are cute, their quality is undeniable, and the fact that they come in so many different shades makes it easy to gift them. (My mom and sister are both getting them. Shhhh.)  If you're thinking of giving winter accessories this season, these are my top two picks.

As for the rest of the winter accessory gift ideas, I've rounded up my favorite choices for both her and him below. Each of these pieces is stylish, highest quality, versatile, and bound to make the receiver pretty freaking happy.

WINTER ACCESSORIES GIFTS FOR HER: 1. The Honeycomb Hat (in Heather Gray, $49)  //  2. The Bad Intentions Hat (in Heather Gray, $44)   //  3. The Chevy Scarf (shown in Gray; I love Black Mix, $49) //  4. The Happy Hat (In Natural Mix, $44)  //  5. The Swagger Mitt (in Black Mix, $49)  //  6. Pied De Poule Scarf (in Dark Red, $59)  // All available at RELLA

WINTER ACCESSORIES GIFTS FOR HIM: 1. The Williams Hat (in Dark Olive, $35)  //  2. The Be Good Stripe Hat (in Black, $29)  //  3. The Crossed Hat (in Heather Charcoal, $39)  //  4. The Base Hat (in Grey/Black, $49)  //  5. The Conclude Hat (in Dark Navy Tweed, $35)  //  6. The Harold Hat in (in Charcoal Mix, $39) // All available at RELLA

If you can't tell by now, when it comes to winter accessories, I'm a pretty big fan of RELLA. Their goods are equal parts modern and classic, they're incredibly well made, and they're the perfect blend of outdoor authenticity and understated urban flair. The people behind the products are pretty great too - full of passion for what they do, with a focus on enabling individual style rather than fast fashion trends that will end up in a landfill next season. I can't recommend them highly enough for your holiday gift lists (or for you!). And here's some good news: their big Black Friday preview starts tomorrow (11/17) and goes through Sunday (11/20). You'll get 30% off your entire purchase (excluding clearance) and free shipping. Woohoo!

What kinds of accessory items are you planning to give out this year? Who else is a RELLA fan?

  3. Yay, an outfit post! I can't help it, I love them ;) I'm not really a hat and mittens kind of girl - I think growing up in a really cold place, you either learn to love them or always hate them, and my feelings tend far more towards hate. But I do think they can look super cute on other people and this set is just adorable on you :)

  4. Those mittens look so warm and comfy :) I usually buy at least one person a scarf. I'd buy a hat for my husband if he would actually wear one ;-)
