A First Day of School Interview (For In Person, E-Learning, + Homeschool!)

First Day of School Interview for Kids

Well, we officially completed our first week of back-to-school during the Covid era. (Well, sort of. This is the first official full week. Last week was only three days. But still.) If you're a regular reader here, you know that over the past couple of years, I have put together a fun 'interview' with questions to ask my kids on their first days of school. I also ask the same questions on the last day of school to see how her answers have changed. It really is a cool way to see how interests evolve and also our little ones grow.

This year, I changed the interview a little to incorporate the unique (for lack of a better word) situation we're all facing. No matter how your child is learning this year - in person, remotely, or homeschool - this survey will be a fun way to document the beginning of the year.

26. Are you learning at school, on the computer at home, or doing homeschool this year? At school and on the computer at home. Both.
27. What is one thing you love about the unique way you are doing school this year? I get to see my friends at school and I don't mind that it is from a distance and that we have to wear masks because it's good to be safe. (I love this.) I like to learn at home too because I love you. (I love you too little lady!)

I'll share Emmett's (his first day of school is after Labor Day) soon. I hope this brings a little joy during this strange start to the school year. And for those who have asked about the chalkboard signs, I ordered it (along with 'last day' signs for both kids) right here
