My Top Fashion Picks for the 2011 Oscars

Michelle Williams was stunning in this simply cut but elegantly detailed Chanel dress.  And oh, that hair!  I  adore her sense of style. (image source)

It's no secret that I'm a fan of Rodarte, and Natalie Portman was glowing and gorgeous in this draped purple gown.

I officially want Mila Kunis's lacey lavender Elie Saab gown, as soon as I win the lottery.  LOVE the detailing at the bust. (image source)

I'm beyond impressed with Livia Firth's absolutely beautiful (and eco-conscious!) Gary Harvey gown, made from 11 (yes, 11) reclaimed dresses.  She also wore the world's first fair trade certified gold jewelry by Anna Loucah.  These images from Vogue UK of her getting ready are just gorgeous.  You are amazing Livia!

Maybe it's time for me to start designing eco-couture.  Do you think Livia Firth would wear my recycled candy wrapper dress to her next event?

  1. That lavender dress of Mila Kunis was, I think, as of now, my favorite Oscar dress. It was so feminine and delicate but also downright sexy--and she looked just beautiful in it.
Thank you for sharing the shots of Livia Firth. Her husband mentioned her in all of his award speeches and just seems head over heels in love with her. (My grandmother and aunt actually saw them together checking into the Ritz and said they looked so very happy.)

  4. Gabriella, Livia Firth is just amazing... As a designer of sustainable fashion, it always makes me feel so good to see celebrities who are really committed to eco-friendly clothing, especially for high profile events like this. Teddi, I haven't read that article but I need to! Jessica, thank you! I always love reading your sweet comments.
