It's been almost two months since my last 'life lately' update, and the first day of November just seemed like the perfect time to catch up.  For new readers, these posts document some bits and pieces of my regular day-to-day life via good ol' non-fancy cell phone pictures.

The month of October was pretty crazy, and being 7.5 months pregnant, I'm definitely feeling the effects of all the activity.  I've been working extra hours to prepare my companies for the holidays, my mama-in-law came to stay with us from Arizona, my sister came to visit from Indianapolis, I took a weekend trip up to Door County in northern Wisconsin, my mom and sister threw me a baby shower in the 'burbs and my girlfriends threw me one in the city, Robbie ran the Chicago marathon on one of the few days he had off from the band's fall tour, I've been busting some serious ass on the baby's room (and the rest of the house), I've had all sorts of OB appointments and dentist appointments and whatever appointments, and right now I'm in a hotel room in Milwaukee for Robbie's band's 3-show Halloween run.  Phew.  Next weekend we're taking a mini weekend trip up to Lake Geneva for a couple of days (it's our very inexpensive, overly simplified version of a 'babymoon'), the following week is filled with birthing and breastfeeding classes, and after that, holiday madness begins at work.  And in there somewhere are Thanksgiving and Christmas, and then, baby's arrival!  I think I just need to accept the fact that downtime is officially a thing of the past and try my hardest to relax between the chaos.  In all honesty, I've always functioned better in chaos anyway.

What was your October like?  And did you do anything fun for Halloween yesterday?

Speaking of it being the first day of a new month, there is a brand new group of sponsors (along with some returning favorites) here on Bubby and Bean.  Make sure to pay them a visit by clicking on their pretty graphics over there in the right side bar.  You'll be glad you did - promise.

  1. Hi :) What a busy time you've had lately. Sounds like it was full of adventure! I just got back two days ago from a road trip with my hubby... we drive the Route 66 from Lake Geneva to Joshua Tree, California -the desert was calling. Long journey, life changing. Have fun this weekend in my 'hood and sending good vibes to your belly! x Kat

  2. Ok I just had to add, after getting lost in your blog some more, so cool that your husband manages UM -love, love them. Have seen them dozens of times. A New Years eve show of theirs changed so many things for me. Also, that you grew up on a Hippie Commune in Wisconsin, gasp, whaaaat? Tell me more :) ha ha.

November and December are going to fly by us all so quickly, and the new year will be here before we know it. It was such a busy October, I hadn't even realized that it had been that long since your last "Life Lately" post!

  7. Hi Melissa! I landed here as a result of my blog hopping adventures :) First of all I would like to say that you have a very lovely blog. I'm enjoying my quiet time browsing over your posts. You have the talent to make everything look beautiful.

October has been a busy month for me. When I learned that you are pregnant, I realized how it must have been more challenging for you. Wishing you good health and more beautiful things to come your way.

I hope we can get to know each other better albeit online.

Have a great week ahead. I'm a new fan here.
