'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year' may be a Christmas song to most, but I catch myself humming it pretty consistently in May. Temperatures finally get warm in May (here in Chicagoland anyway). Everything is beginning to bloom. And this is the time of year where I get to hit up plant stores and nurseries every weekend in preparation of planting my gardens. It's soooo dorky, but seriously, when I get to pick out new plants/flowers/herbs/veggies in preparation for summertime, I'm giddy to the point of letting out audible squeals. We don't have a yard where we live, but we have mastered (at least in our eyes) creating gardens in small spaces (mainly in containers, tiny raised beds, and flower boxes). And in between our mismatched tiny garden spaces (I tell myself they're 'eclectic'), I also love trying out fun little garden themed DIY projects. Of course, if (when!) we get a house with a yard, I know I'll go all out on the garden-y DIYs. But for now, it's smaller versions and lots of dreaming.

Speaking of dreaming, for this edition of 10 Great I thought I'd share some cool looking garden projects that I've come across lately. Some of them are meant for bigger spaces than what we have, but they're great for inspiration. And others can be done even if you don't have an actual garden at all. Some involve creating gardens themselves, and others are more decor-based. But they're all garden-themed, and they're all awesome.

Show of hands for everyone stoked about the return of garden season!

  3. How did you know that we need to go work on our yard? Haha. With all of this rain it's a little wild out there, plus we have NO decor. Oops! I'm really digging #3 and #5.

  4. Your gardening posts always make me smile, Melissa. I love the idea of gardening in theory, but in practise fail miserably at it. I currently have a plant which I think is dying in front of me as I type this - poor thing, it's not because I haven't tried to take care of it. Maybe one day I'll get the hang of plant care!

  5. Love all these ideas! I esp like the vertical ones great for small spaces, we just have a small balcony in our rented apartment but I still managed to turn it into our tiny green paradise!
