Just 2 Weeks Left

Well my friends, this summer girl is admittedly a little sad to say that just two weeks (+ two days) remain of the official summer season. I'm taking the glass full attitude though, and I've decided I'm going to celebrate these last days of summer to the the very end - especially today. It's Labor Day here in the states, and although this day was originally put into place to recognize and honor the American worker (which is awesome), it has also come to represent the last day of summertime. And any day where people get together and hang out and eat and drink as a farewell party to the best of all seasons is alright by me.

We'll actually spend most of the afternoon today on the road driving back to Chicago, but Robbie, and Essley, and I just spent three glorious days in Indianapolis, getting our final summer fix with my sister and her husband. The three of us usually only get down here as a group once a year, and we've really enjoyed getting to have some family fun with some of our favorite people via one last summertime mini road trip getaway.

Whatever your plans today, I hope you get to squeeze in at least a little final summertime fun. See you tomorrow!

  2. Happy Labour Day, Melissa! After a week of rain, this weekend really has looked like the last weekend of summer for us - the weather is cool but the sun has shone and we've been able to get outside to enjoy is one last time before the rush of September hits us. Today will be spent by the pool and I can't wait :)

  3. Yikes, I've been wearing my wintercoat for the last two days, but supposedly, we'll be having lots of sun the next couple of days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

  5. In Florida, Summer never really ends, LOL. But trust me, too much of a sun is not good either. I actually miss the Winter back in Europe...
Enjoy the rest of the nice weather!

    Happy Tuesday!
