Oh, Hey Fall.

I almost didn't post this because I feel like the whole thing (gushing about fall, ethereal photographs, etc.) is such a blogger cliche, but I decided to go for it because (1) I do summer inspiration posts exactly like this every single year at the start of summer without a second thought, and (2) I don't get nearly as pumped about fall as I do summer (honestly, I get a little sad), and looking at pretty autumn-themed images makes me focus on the parts of the season that are redeeming despite the fact that in the back of my head it still represents the slow demise of all things cheerful into a dark abyss of winter agony. (Not dramatic at all. Nope.)

So yeah. Today marks the first official day of fall. Whether you're a devout fan or slightly more on the meh side like I am, I hope that these beautiful images encourage you to embrace and get excited for the season of coziness and color to its fullest. I'll admit that I am kinda sorta day dreaming right now about drinking hot cider and picking apples with crunchy leaves under foot. You can find more autumn inspired beauty right here.

  3. Fall is my favorite season followed by summer. The Autumn Equinox is most often on my birthday (today!!), so for me it feels like a fresh start, my own New Year, so to speak. Maybe that seems super new age-y...haha. Regardless, there is definitely a new kind of energy that I get around this time of year each year, which makes me love the season so much. :)

  4. I don't care if it's a cliche, I wrote a fall post today, too! This summer was basically a pile of rainy garbage and I'm glad to leave it behind. Haha. Fall forever!

  7. While all these photos are beautiful, and make me a little happy for fall, I'm so glad to know there is someone else with the same thoughts about fall as me. I'm going to miss summer something fierce! We had SO much fun this year...I even got a tan!!
And...I know that with fall comes the crazy, busy holiday season. While it's nice on the bank account, it's not so great on my tan...lol :)

  10. I live in constant, 100% summer ALL. YEAR. LONG (Cartagena, Colombia) and I'm pretty sure you probably don't want.... At least I know that while I don't particularly love the cold, I do daydream of cozy fall days sitting by a nice fire with a hot drink, oh and specially being able to wear sweaters, cardigans, booties!!.. (a complete no no when the temperature never ever goes below 90) :0 perhaps I would love summer so much too if it was over after 3 months..??

  11. I love fall - but I think I love fall more for the way it happens in other places than the way it happens where I live. I was in Cape Breton last year for Thanksgiving and fall there was the most beautiful I've ever seen, complete with sunny skies and red leaves and ripe pumpkins and all the wonderful things in this post.
