I very rarely make personal posts involving our daughter Essley here on the blog, but this is one of those times I'm making an exception. Some of you may remember a project we did in her first year that we called '52 Weeks of Essley.' We took a photo of her once a week, for an entire year, starting with the day she was born. At the end of the year, I compiled all of the images into a slideshow video (you can see it here). It ended up being a really cool experience (although I'll be upfront and tell you the weekly pictures got pretty old by the end), and we loved getting to see how much she changed in a year via the video.
We decided to carry the project into a second year, but this time we just took a photo a month, and I didn't make a video. I still thought it would be fun to put all of the photos together in one space though, which you can see above. It makes my heart seriously swell to see how much she changed in her second year too. Man, do I love this kid.
I'm not sure if we'll do the weekly pictures for baby boy or just do once a month for him. I'll feel a little guilty not doing the same for him as we did for his sister, but like I said, those once weekly pictures felt like a little bit of a chore by the end. Regardless, we'll do something. I can't wait to see how he changes and grows as well.
Have any of you done something similar with your little ones?
